Overnight roadwork shifts Bay Bridge traffic; eastbound peaks at 16 minutes
Roadwork closed the eastbound span, leaving one lane each way on the westbound span and a center buffer, reported from 12:05 to 3:55 a.m. and again from 8:31 p.m. Eastbound travel peaked at 16 minutes in the 8 and 9 p.m. hours, versus 10 typical. Westbound delays at Exit 27 were reported from 8:40 to 9:05 a.m., starting about half a mile from the river bridge. The westbound left lane was closed for roadwork in the 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. updates; at 3 p.m., three lanes were open eastbound and two westbound.
