Disabled vehicle slows westbound Bay Bridge; Severn delays hit 4.2 miles
Overnight roadwork closed the eastbound span, with one lane each way on the westbound span and its center lane closed as a buffer. Eastbound Severn River Bridge delays reached 4.2 miles to Exit 22 (MD 665) at 4:30 p.m. At 6:05 p.m., a disabled vehicle closed the Bay Bridge’s westbound right lane, leaving one westbound and three eastbound lanes, with a 1.5-mile backup to Exit 38A (Duke Street). Two westbound lanes were open by 6:20 p.m., delays cleared by 6:36 p.m., and westbound travel peaked at 15 minutes in the 6 p.m. hour (8 typical).
