Overnight Eastbound Bridge Closure Caused 2.5-Mile Delays Wednesday Evening
Routine daytime traffic gave way to evening delays when roadwork closed the eastbound bridge, shifting travel into two-way operations on the westbound span with one lane open in each direction. Beginning around 8:55 PM, eastbound traffic backed up 2.5 miles to Exit 30, increasing crossing times to a peak of 18 minutes. Queues receded past Exit 31 (Whitehall Road) and Exit 32 (Sandy Point) before completely clearing by 9:56 PM.
