Morning commuters faced a brief eastbound delay starting at 10:07 a.m. which extended 1.5 miles to Exit 31 (Whitehall Road) with travel times peaking at 15 minutes. The most significant impact occurred at 10:37 p.m. when the eastbound bridge closed for road work, shifting all traffic to a single-lane, two-way configuration on the westbound span. While the bridge itself remained clear during the evening commute, eastbound approach delays on US 50 toward the Severn River Bridge reached 5.3 miles at Exit 21 (I-97) by 4:37 p.m.
