Westbound backups reached 2.5 miles at Exit 39A (Castle Marina Road) from 4:35 to 5:30 p.m. Delays began at 2:55 p.m. at Exit 37 (Route 8), cleared by 7:10 p.m., and westbound trips peaked at 15 minutes. Three lanes were open eastbound and two westbound during the backup; the westbound left lane closed at 7:10 p.m. as two-way traffic ended. Wind warnings at 8:05 and 8:21 p.m. reported sustained winds of 30-39 mph.
