Westbound Bay Bridge backups reached 1.8 miles Friday afternoon
Westbound Bay Bridge backups reached 1.8 miles to Shopping Center Road from 4:02 to 5:16 p.m., then eased to 1.5 miles at Exit 38A (Duke Street) through 6:01 p.m. Separately, eastbound Severn River Bridge delays reached 4.2 miles to Exit 22 (MD 665) at 4:46 p.m. Eastbound Bay Bridge delays extended 1 mile to Exit 32 (Sandy Point) at 11:02 and 11:16 a.m. Three lanes operated eastbound and two westbound before two-way traffic was discontinued at 8:46 p.m.; daily peak travel times were 17 minutes eastbound and 18 westbound.
