Overnight wind warnings, daytime roadwork, and evening two-way operations
Sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph prompted wind warnings until 7:02 AM. Daytime travel remained largely manageable despite minor incidents, including a 1.5-mile westbound backup to Exit 38A at 4:42 PM and an eastbound delay reaching Exit 31 at 9:34 AM that pushed travel times to 20 minutes. By 8:48 PM, the eastbound bridge closed entirely for roadwork, shifting traffic into a two-way pattern on the westbound span with one lane moving in each direction.
