Wind warnings and midday eastbound delays highlight Friday crossings
A wind warning with sustained speeds of 30 to 39 mph persisted across the bridge for most of the day, beginning at 2:38 AM. Eastbound traffic experienced peak delays reaching 24 minutes around noon as backups stretched 3.5 miles to Exit 29A (Buschs Frontage Road). Later in the afternoon, westbound delays backed up 2.5 miles to Exit 39A (Castle Marina Road) during lane adjustments to discontinue two-way operations, with all congestion fully clearing by 7:29 PM.
