Monday Afternoon Roadwork Triggers 3-Mile Backups and 24-Minute Travel Times

Early afternoon maintenance led to significant congestion, with the most severe impact occurring around 2:00 p.m. Eastbound traffic reached a 24-minute peak travel time with 3-mile backups extending to Cape Saint Claire Road (Exit 29B) due to right-lane closures. Westbound delays also peaked at 1.8 miles near Shopping Center Road before clearing by 4:00 p.m. Overnight travel was reduced to one lane in each direction on the westbound span for bridge maintenance.
