Evening bridge work backs up eastbound traffic 2.5 miles to Exit 30
The eastbound span closure for roadwork caused a 2.5-mile backup to Exit 30 at 9:05 p.m. One lane each way used the westbound span with a center buffer; eastbound trips peaked at 16 minutes versus 10 typical, and delays cleared by 9:40 p.m. Morning sustained winds were 30–39 mph, while westbound delays beyond the Bay Bridge extended toward the Severn River Bridge, 6 miles away. A 1-mile eastbound backup reached Exit 32 (Sandy Point) at 3:05 p.m.; three eastbound and two westbound lanes were open by 3:20 p.m.
